Return & Refund Policy – Baber Lock & Key NZ
Effective Date: 15 August 2025
- Purpose
This policy sets out the conditions under which Baber Lock & Key NZ will accept product returns and issue refunds for goods purchased including orders placed through our Partner Portal (Daveweb). - When Returns Are Accepted
We accept returns if:
- Goods are faulty, defective, or damaged in transit.
- Goods supplied are incorrect.
- Goods fail under manufacturer warranty.
All claims must be made in writing within 14 days after delivery of the goods. Claims made after this period will not be accepted.
- When Returns Are Not Accepted
We do not accept returns for:
- Special order or customised products.
- Goods that have been used, installed, or modified after delivery (unless faulty).
- Goods not purchased directly from Baber Lock & Key NZ.
- Return Process
- Contact our NZ Customer Service to request a Return Authorisation (RA) number.
- Provide the invoice, product details, and the reason for the return.
- Returned goods must be accompanied by full particulars of the claim and a copy of the invoice.
- Unless the return is due to our error or product fault, return freight costs are the customer’s responsibility.
- Risk and Ownership
Risk in goods passes to you upon delivery. However, Baber Lock & Key NZ retains ownership of all goods until payment in full has been received. Until that time, you hold the goods as bailee for Baber Lock & Key NZ and must keep them insured for their full replacement value. - Refunds and Credits
Refunds or credits will only be processed after returned goods have been inspected and approved by Baber Lock & Key NZ. Refunds will be made via the original payment method or credited to your account.
Order Cancellation Policy – Baber Lock & Key NZ

- Cancellation Before Dispatch
Orders may be cancelled without charge prior to dispatch, provided the cancellation request is made in writing. - After Dispatch
Once goods have been dispatched, orders cannot be cancelled. If you no longer require the goods, our Return & Refund Policy will apply. - Special Orders and Custom Goods
Orders for non-stock, customised, or special-order items cannot be cancelled once confirmed with our suppliers. - Company Cancellations
We reserve the right to cancel an order immediately if you:
- Cease or threaten to cease trading.
- Enter into arrangements or negotiations with creditors.
- Are unable to pay your debts as they fall due.
- Are placed into liquidation, receivership, or statutory management.
- Have distress or execution levied on your assets.
- Breach any other terms of trade.
- Deposits
Deposits for special orders, bulk orders, or custom goods are non-refundable once the order has been confirmed. - Ownership of Goods
Until full payment is received, Baber Lock & Key NZ retains ownership of goods and may repossess them at any time if payment obligations are not met.
Delivery Policy – Baber Lock & Key NZ

- Delivery Area and Method
We deliver nationwide in New Zealand via approved couriers and freight partners. Delivery to a carrier is deemed delivery to you. - Dispatch Times
- Stock items are normally dispatched within 1–2 business days of order confirmation.
- Special orders and large project orders may have longer lead times, which will be advised at the time of order.
- Multiple Shipments
Where an order contains products with different availability dates, we may ship goods in multiple consignments to ensure prompt delivery of available stock. - Delivery Delays
Delivery dates are given in good faith but are not guaranteed. Late delivery does not constitute a breach of contract, and you are not entitled to cancel an order because of delivery delays. We are not liable for delays caused by events outside our control, such as strikes, supplier delays, transport disruptions, or natural disasters. - Risk in Goods
Risk passes to you when goods are delivered to you or your carrier. You are responsible for insuring goods from this point until payment in full has been made.
6. Inspection and Claims
You must inspect all goods immediately upon delivery. Any shortages, damage, or defects must be reported in writing within 3 days of delivery. All claims must include details of the goods, the nature of the issue, and a copy of the invoice.
